Jeffery has had a strong work history, but ofter found himself working in a job which provided no health insurance. The family's oldest child, Colton, has Down's Syndrome, making the lack of health insuance a serious problem. We enrolled Colton in Head Start, and helped the family establish and reach goals related to their future. Jeffery now has a good job with medical insurance, which allows the family to obtain the services they need for their children. Colton has demonstrated remarkable growth and development, is speaking more, can drink from a cup, and enjoys socialization and academic activities in the classroom. East Central Illinois Community Action Agency has helped the family as they work to help themselves. Programs: Energy Assistance; Home Weatherization; Emergency Shelter; Senior Nutrition; Head Start; Education Talent Search; CSBG Scholarship; Small Business Loan; Family and Community Development; Emergency Cash; Intake and Linkage; Multi-purpose Senior Center. |
